I hope you enjoyed You Can Draw Anything, Part 1!
If you’re eager to try the techniques you learned there on another sketch, here is your free gift: a link to a video and the downloadable PDF that goes with it. This time, we’re drawing the Eiffel Tower, and (like all recognizable monuments) getting its proportions kinda right really helps. This PDF and video break down that process for you. Enjoy!
Here is the downloadable pdf that goes with this video

Note to loyal subscribers who are wondering what You Can Draw Anything, Part 1 and Part 2 are about: I am one of 30 artists presenting a free workshop as part of Sketchbook Revival, an online creativity workshop that runs from September 23rd to Oct 7th. If you sign up, you will receive recordings of 2 workshops in your inbox every day during that time. I tend to skim through the videos quickly and then decide which workshops to do. My workshop, You Can Draw Anything, Part 1! is about a half-hour-long video in real-time in which I explain how I draw and paint an urban sketch. Join here if you are interested.
Workshops: Online and in-Person
Coming up soon: a chance to learn People Sketching Online!
People Alive: Sketches Full of Life (Fall 2024 Online Edition)
I teach this workshop once a year, but the spring session filled up quickly this year and many of you wrote in asking for a second session. So here is the fall edition of this in-depth, 4-week workshop that will move you from a fear of drawing people to feeling confident and excited about sketching people-centric stories.
This workshop is a great place to start if you find people sketching intimidating, or an exciting place to learn to translate those skills into being able to draw from motion!
4 session on Nov 10th, 17th, 24th, and Dec 8th, 2024: 8 am to 10 am Pacific Time
